In this episode I take you on a virtual trip around the show floor at the 127th Audio Engineering Society Convention. Cool gear and short interviews with Barefoot Sound, Kush Audio / UBK, A Designs, Little Labs, Endless Analog, API, Schwartz Engineering (the laser mic guys), Simpson Microphones, Matrix Audio, Steven Slate Pro Audio, KMF Audio, Elysia Audio, Bock Audio, JZ Microphones, Matrix Audio Systems, Essential Sound Products, Trident and more
This is our longest episode yet, but don’t forget that Ronan’s Recording Show streams so you can fast forward and go back to any parts of the show at any time.
There is a small problem and the show cuts off at 69min. Until we get that fixed, we have posted the last 10 minutes on Youtube. Watch the last 10 minutes here

Really cool, but does the video end abruptly at about 69 minutes?

Great show – thanks jhk for letting me know that the video ended there. I thought it was my internet stick, giving me troubles.
My ONLY complaint: when you were at the PMI booth and talking with Mr Toft, the other dood was doing the Vanna White with the Trident A-Range modules and you didn’t discuss them at all! Arrg…I’m very very interested in these. One of the reason’s I went Daking was b/c I love the sound of A-Range
But a great,extensive progrm regardless!

Awesome! I remember thinking while I was there, “I wish I could come to AES every weekend!”. Now I can…virtually!
I saw you at the A designs booth on Saturday and was going to say hi, but you were in conversation with about 4 other people and I didn’t want to interrupt. I went up another aisle and checked back, but you had left. I just wanted to comment on the show…I love it, keep it up!

Great coverage. That Little Labs guy is like a mad scientist. I could hardly make out what he was saying but the products are very cool. Maybe feels a bit like cheating. I have the IBP plugin. Sure is handy.

Thnx for covering JZ Microphones Black Hole in your show. I really enjoy watching your shows.
Everyone can read more about JZ at http://www.jzmic.com

Hey Ronan, I absolutely have to comment on the AES 2009 presentations and interviews. You have a way of making us feel apart from start to finish. That my friend is what I call “keeping us involve”. YOU really know how to put on a show. What ever you do don’t change a thing. Keep it simple, informative and ask the question that you know you would want answered. Just like you did in the show!
I do have a question though. Do you know Bob Katz? And if so would you consider interviewing him and picking his brain. His book is a start. I just received his book MASTERING AUDIO. Its amazing. Its just a suggestion and I believe it would be insightful.
Thanks _____ and take care.

Killer show Ronan! What’s really cool about some of the things you chose to focus on is that you showed a lot of folks that are trying to push things forward, and trying to improve what we have or find new ways of doing things. A lot of times there is so much hype about certain products, or people get caught up in new iterations of old designs, and I really appreciate that you took the time to point out some innovative (and even controversial) designers! It’s seems nuts to hear a guy start an interview with the words “the problem with diaphragms is…” but at the same time it’s awesome that people are constantly searching for the next cool thing!

Good job Ronan!
Thanks for doing that and letting us see the new gear at AES.

What’s the Mark VIII cost??? Im sure its pricey but thats so amazing… i was dreaming up a board that could do that with 19” gear but this is much more practical and exactly what ive been looking for… Ronan you should do an episode about 500 series modules… ive never used them and id love to hear the pros and cons and generally your opinion on them… thanks for the great vids…
P.S.
CLASP…. Tape is back!

The Mark VIII list price is $9,000. Right now PPA is selling them at $6,000. That is of course without any 500 series in the unit. If you decide you want to buy some 500 series, PPA will be more than happy to help you fill up your new Mark VIII with some killer prices on the BAC 500 or the Electrodyne 501/511’s.
